Half way around Usery. Very nice hike!
Recommend you start at the wind moutain trailhead and then go around the pass mountain trail. I recommend you go counter clockwise. You will gain about 1,000 feet in elevation. Lots of 7-8 year olds on the trail. 3.75 miles in so bring lots of water. We went the entire way around. The last half is a lot of rotten granite so it was slick. Quite a bit of wash ups and downs towards the end. When I do it again, I will go counter in and then just back track as the west portion of the trail kinda sucks. Saw a ton of lizards, a hawk, vulture and a really big lizard, probaly the body was almost a foot long. Lots of dens and a really beautiful hike. Recommend you do it in the morning unless you go in the winter as it will get hot. Costs $5.00 to park at the trail head. There are a couple of other ways to hook up to the trail, one by cat peak, and I am not sure that they charge anything. This is a small ammo can. May need to donate a pencil as all I had was a pen and it may not last long.
