Located at the Charlton Mill Covered Bridge on Charleton Mill Road. Take US Route 68 N. out of Xenia, then turn right (east) onto Brush Row Rd. Turn left (north) onto Wilberforce-Clifton Rd., then turn onto Charleton Mill Rd. and you are nearly there.
Charlton Mill Covered Bridge is a Howe truss bridge built over Massie's Creek.
Sadly, fewer and fewer of these picturesque covered bridges remain and those that do remain have been marred with grafitti. Charlton Mill is not the exception - enjoy the picturesque setting while ignoring the vandals
artwork. Charlton Mill Bridge, built in 1882 by a man named Henry Hebble, is one of only five covered bridges still standing in Greene County, Ohio. Be sure to stop and take a snapshot of this quickly-disappearing part of Ohio's history.
The cache is hidden in a standardized-ruggedized cache-hiding utility container. Some minor bushwhacking is necessary. Even trades, please! Be sure to re-hide the cache appropriately to prevent muggles.
Note: This cache was replaced 5/3/06 as the previous one was washed away by a rain-swelled Massie's Creek. The coordinates to the new cache placement have been updated, as well as the clues.
