The cache is located in a sculpture area named "RÆK II". "RÆK I" is
Located at Andenes, and "RÆK III" in Hovden in Bø i Vesterålen. The
availability to the cache is easy, but to find it could be a little
bit harder.....
RÆK II I 2002 ble "RÆK II" realisert. Myre Barneskole, Husjord
Skole, Romset Skole og Øksnes Kystlag laget "RÆK II" med
smykkekunstner Ingrid Larsen som konsulent. Dugnadskunstnerene
plasserte tre store stokker på Stø. Mellom stokkene symboliserer en
sandsti Golfstrømmen, og berget bak er påført et øye som
symboliserer en hval eller en steinbit. Stø; Stø var en av de
største fiskesamfunnene tidlig på 1900-tallet. I dag er det
fortsatt stor aktivitet på fiskebrukene i perioder, men på langt
nær så mye som i de gode gamle dager. På sommeren er Stø et
naturlig valg for å se midnattsolen, og en spasertur vest til
punkt; N69 00.835 E015 06.004 (850 meter i luftlinje fra
cachen)finner du en nydelig sandstrand ved navn Skipssanden. Cachen
er naturlig nok forsøkt gjemt godt for å skjerme den fra vær og
vind. English; "RÆK II" In 2002, the project was exspanded. Myre
primary school, Romset School, and Øksnes Costal Society created
"RÆK II" with ornament artist Ingrid Larsen as a consulant. The
artist, working on a volunteer basis, placed three large wooden
beams at Stø. Between the beams, a sand path represents the Gulf
Stream, and the boulder behind it was given av eye - so that looks
like a whale or a wolffish. Stø; This area was the fishing capital
of Vestaeraalen during the early 1900. You will find that it's
still fishing activity here, but not like in the old days. In the
summertime this is a nice spot to watch the midnight sun, and a
walk vest to point N69 00.835 E015 06.004 (850 mtrs from the
cache), you will find a nice beach wich is a popular beach in the
summertime.The cache is hidden under some rocks, because the
weather could be wery hard out here during the winter-time.
