This is a 3 stage multi-cache located along the trails of the
Falmouth Nature Preserve.
The FNP is located along Route 88 in the Falmouth Foreside area.
There is parking for several cars. This trail is used by families,
mountain bikes, and dog walkers. See the Portland Trails map #21 at
www.trails.org: "The Falmouth Nature Preserve can be a little hard
to find, but once you make your way in you will want to visit over
and over again. In winter it is a wonderful place for snowshoeing
and skiing. The park welcomes dogs under voice command and is open
from dawn to dusk. Five well-marked dirt trails wind through a
mixed forest of hemlock, beech, maple, and yellow and white birch.
The trails extend from the parking lot to the floodplain of Mill
Creek. There is a comprehensive carved wooden trail map in the
parking lot. Trail access: The preserve is located on Route 88
(Foreside Road) about 0.7 miles south of Town Landing Market. A
dirt drive directly across from 177 Foreside Road is marked with a
small "FNP" sign and leads to the parking area." The first
coordinates take you to the sign. Look for the next set of
coordinates there. Those coords should lead you to a micro 35 mm
film container with a geocaching sticker on it with the next coords
marked on the outside. There are stickers in it to write down these
numbers, but no pencil. These coords lead you to the final cache
which is a standard green ammo box with a geocaching sticker on it.
We are starting several new travel bugs here along with an
assortment of cache goodies, including: zen stickers, LionKing toy,
a Beach Comber magnet generously donated at the "Last Cache Bash"
for this cache, another TB, logbook and pencil. Have fun and enjoy
