Geocache Description:

This cache is my daughters first cache and dedicated to our peacock Peatie. Located off Mero Rd, and 89th S.E.on DNR land with lots of gravel roads to explore. When you reach the Y, take the road to the right. Left goes to Rock Quarry Music Box. Cache site offers a nice view of the mountains to the east.

This is an easy walk of about 2 miles roundtrip on DNR land that was recently logged off in the past 10 years. If you go in the evenings or weekends, there's a good chance you'll see wildlife. You are looking for a 30 cal ammo box. This cache is dedicated to Peatie our 3 year old india blue peacock. There's a bag of small eye feathers from Peaties huge tail. Peacocks grow a huge tail that they display each spring to attrack a mate. About mid July the males begin to lose their tail and it all falls out to begin growing again for the next year. The large eye feathers are over 4 ft long and very pretty. Please only take one. There is a bag of Peatie Pics to look at and see how beautiful he is along with some assorted kids toys. Peacocks are wonderfull birds, but do have a very loud scream that they use to call a mate from spring to mid summer. Some have said this scream sounds like someone getting murdered, so peacocks aren't for everyone if you have close neighbors. Peatie is a very curious bird and will come up and take food from your hand. He enjoys sitting in the window box watching what goes on in the house. We have 7 other peafowl friends that wander about with Peatie, so he has lots of company.

Update: 1-18-05 This is #3 in this area series. Check the log book cover for 1/4 of the cordinates to Woods Creek Bonus cache. It looks like the logging is done.

Rock Quarry Music Box is nearby, so don't miss this one.

Updated Terrain to 3. 1/6/13 Side roads in the area have been decommissioned, so the road is rapidly becoming more a trail with some bushwacking and berries. Shorts and flip flops might not be a good idea for this cache.
