Geocache Description:

Farthest point of a long hike/bike. I recommend bike. Gentle enough for kids and seniors who have plenty of time to kill.

This one is not for the "gotta score 5-a-day" group. It is furthest from a road of any that I've hidden or found, but yet it is easy enough for kids on bikes. This trail has a lot of history. Fifty years ago it was a spur line for railroad logging. Twenty-five years ago I drove a 4WD up it (barely) and came upon a huge permanent-looking teepee dwelling in the first clearing. Ten years ago it was a fun ATV trail. Now it is a great place to relax on foot or bicycle with over a mile of pavement and several benches along the way. At end of pavement I would suggest that bikers ignore the trail sign and keep on the lower road. You can more easily explore the upper path on your return. Suggested parking spot is at N46'46.416 W116'27.387
