This is a very scenic spot overlooking the lake. The cache is short hike once you get there by boat or dirt road. There is a nice spot for a picnic near by. Don’t for get your camera.
Our family has been camping and boating on this lake for over 30 years and is one of the best big lakes in California. Since it is a bit off the beaten path, it is not very crowded and provides great opportunities for boating, camping, and fishing.
We got to this site by boat. If you come by boat I can recommend tying up at either
N40°49.816', W122°46.092'
or
N40°49.853', W122°46.025'
depending on which way the wind is blowing. Boats can be rented at several marinas on the lake. We use Estrellita Marina (www.estrellitamarina.com/other.htm) but any of them can rent you a small boat.
The cache is also accessible by dirt road. According to some fellow cachers a 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended for the last 2 miles.
There is a picnic table near the cache with great views of the lake, but there is no drinking water or toilet facilities so come prepared.
We have included a disposable camera in the cache for finders to take a picture of themselves. Please leave the camera in the cache so that others can use the camera. If the camera is out of film, please note that in your posting so that I can develop and post the pictures and replace it with a new camera.
