SK8 Series #16 (Skate Shop) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MMACH 5: The cache is still where I last placed it. Unfortunately, the hole in the tree has grown closed to the point of making the container unreachable. You can look in there and see the Altoids tin floating in the, now rusty, trapped rain water. Word on the street is that Valley View Mall is on the chopping block to be bull-dozed soon. This are may or may not be accessible when that happens.
I already miss the glory days of Valley View, back in the '70s & early '80s.

The bonus code for this cache was M=9. I'll list it on the bonus cache page also.

Cache on.

Remember how Valley View Mall looked before the big, 1990 remodeling project, (red brick with bronze animal statues at the seating areas)? The Skate Shop was located under the long ramp that used to connect the first and second floors, in a tiny basement-like storefront, (right under where Street Corner News is today).

This is a little off-topic:
On a dare, I once rode in a shopping cart down that ramp. In case you don't remember, the ramp made a 90° turn at a brick wall near the bottom.
Grocery cart with stupid kid moving at a high rate of speed + brick wall = stupid kid bouncing off a small tree and into the planter. And this was before the days of Jack*ss!

Mall security kept a pretty close eye on anyone in the mall carrying a skateboard. You could get any manner of skateboard or roller skate gear, just not use it in the mall. We'd pick up the latest skate mag or catch up on local skate news/rumors, but this was also a perfect place to meet up with others before heading out to where ever we were going to skate that day. We also spent a fair amount of time just hanging out there. I think The Skate Shop closed its doors in 1983.

Camoed micro mint tin. Beware of muggles in the area. BYOP.
