They've run me outta town. Micro's in Hickory are out of control. Time to head for the hills.

Riverbend Park is one of the jewels of Catawba County. According to the brochure,"There are 450 acres and nearly 12 miles of trails to explore in this beautiful river basin park." There are 6.5 Miles of Mountain Bike and Hiking trails and 4.5 miles of horseback riding trails.

It is truly a wonderful place to help teach children about what nature has to offer. Deer, Squirrel, Rabbit and other creatures abound. Bring along a contour map and help the young ones understand terrain features and contour intervals. There are many examples here to use for a practical exam.

Wear good, comfortable walking shoes, bring plenty of water to drink and don't forget the ole camera to document your visit. Please feel free to post whatever pictures you choose to the site, all are welcome. Don't worry about spoilers, this cache is all about the fun and exercise involved with Geocaching.
