This micro cache is located in the Washington Township Veteran's Park, in Washington Township, Fayette County, between Belle Vernon and Fayette City on Route 201.
This park was created as part of a community conservation partnership initiative. It was dedicated on October 14, 2001 to those who have served in our military. It has been developed into a nice little walking area with a great view of the Monongahela river, its bridges and the homes, businesses, and towns along it. The walking trail is not paved but is flat and has a base of small rocks that would permit the travel of wheeled vehicles (wheelchairs, strollers, etc.) Bring a lunch and enjoy the view from the picnic table in the beautiful gazebo.The cache is in a full size Altoids can. Please be sure to sign the log. It is starting with two pencils. Also included is a new travel bug, The Mountaineer Travel Bug, ready to start a journey around the east, visiting its rivals. I visited the cache on 5/30/05 and noticed that a vent on the memorial is slighly bent out. The cache is not hidden behind the vent or anywhere that requires tools to access it. Please keep caching a friendly sport!
