Geocache Description:

The cache is in the Nelder Grove area. It is about 12-13 miles from Oakhurst, yet few people visit the Giant Sequoia's in the area (most probably go to Yosemite).

The cache is in an "ammo" can with lots of goodies. California Mill #4 was located at one time in the grove. Southern Sierra Miwok & Mono were one of the first to enjoy its beauty. Giant sequoia stumps can easily be found (and climbed). It is a wonderful spot to go to just for the drive and beautiful scenery. If you are in a "caching" mood and would like to hike a little... check out "The Hawksworth Tree" cache. If you would like some history of the grove send me an e-mail and I'd be happy to tell you some more...Some items in the cache are: Smokey the Bear comic book, bunny puppet, bouncy balls, a book and so much more. NOTE: My coordinates varied from my geo-caching friend's GPS. His were: N 37 25.776 and W 119 34.999. I put the difficulty at 3 because I don't know how close your coordinates will be compared to mine.
