DEWEYS VERMONT FIRST TO SIGN Traditional Cache
DeweyDoubleD: Well after going out and checking on this cache it appears that is too has gone the way of the Dodo Bird. I searched around for a bit but due to where the cache was hidden and its close proximity to the trail and its size I am sure that it fell from its hiding spot and someone thought they needed it more than we geocachers and made off with it. It has been out there for over five years so I guess that is a pretty good run for any cache therefore I will not be replacing this one.

This cache is located in Mobbs Park in Jericho, VT. The area is crisscrossed by Mountain Bike and hiking trails. The terrain is mostly wooded rolling terrain with some pretty steep areas intermixed. THIS CACHE CONTAINS A LOT OF PAPER AND I DONT THINK IT WOULD WORK WELL ON A RAINY DAY.
DEWEYDOUBLED’S VERMONT FIRST TO FIND RULES
As we all know first finds are something that most of us cherish very much, (some more so than others)!! So when I came across a cache that gave many people the opportunity to be first signers in Colorado I thought I would bring that back to Vermont for our caching community.
This cache is concerned mostly about that little piece of geography that each of us calls home. I thought of several different ways to try and put ground rules on it but I finally decided to leave it up to you the finder as to where you want to call home..
The cache contains the following maps:
Map of Vermont with all the towns listed
Map of Vermont with all the counties listed
Map of the United States with states outlined
Maps of each continent with countries outlined
Map of the Canadian Provinces for our Northern Neighbors.
Whereever you decide to claim your home, write on the map with the enclosed Red Sharpie, Please be careful so that the Sharpie doesn't bleed through to other map sheets.
The first signer for example if they are from Underhill, VT would get to sign as the first from Underhill, the first from Chittenden County, the first from Vermont and the First from the United States. I think you get the drill.
I have also enclosed some other fun "firsts. Feel free to sign up for these as well. For those of you not lucky enough to be the first from your area to sign I have enclosed a couple of log sheets that ask for your screenname, hometown and a spot for short comments.
There is very little space in the container for anything besides the log sheets and maps. The cache is fitted into its location in a certain way, note how you take it out so that you can replace it just like you found it. Also note how the maps and logs are placed in the cache. I fear them getting destroyed by repeated insertion in the container.
I have left a few of my signature items in there for everyone. Please feel free to leave signature items as I believe they will fit ok. I have enclosed a zip loc for that purpose.
I have also enclosed two first finder rewards. One is for the first adult first finder and is labeled as such. The second is for the first finder under the age of 16.
I would ask that no one u se the clue to be the true first finder. It is fairly specific. I have had a lot of fun on numerous occassions searching with my Geo Friends to be the first finder so lets give everybody a fair shotat being the first first signer.
