The coordinates are not those for the
cache. They are a meaningless location (the middle of a lake)
in the town of Hollis NH which is your
destination.
This is the third in the series of
Ground Zero caches. To find the cache you must find the coordinates
in the town of Hollis NH that geocaching.com uses to measure
distances to area caches. More information is available on the
original Ground Zero cache page (GCJ3QV).
Unlike the others in this series, this is a small cache (not a
micro) hidden in a small wooded area. Subtract .016 from the north
decimal minutes and add .182 to the west decimal minutes to find
the best parking. Then follow your GPSr.
The cache is a glass jar covered with camo tape and is slightly
smaller than the original peanut butter container. Contents include
a log book and two pencils and several small trade items.
Good luck!
NOTE 2/3/2007: the original container has been changed to one
slightly smaller. Description above reflects the change.
Update 6/30/08 I have received a number of emails with ways to get
the correct coordinates that I never imagined! However there are
also many ways (including the traditional one) to get incorrect
ones as well. Use the following checksum to be sure yours are
right: The seven digits of the North should add up to 39 and the
seven digits of the West should total 29!
