Geocache Description:

Eye am a vary gud speler. I kin spel all kindes of wurds reel gud. But evan eye can sea that their are bad spelings for wurds on the knew moural in frunt of the knew liberry in Livermore.

Whew! I can't keep that up. This cache is based on misspelled words and names on the new mural at the Livermore Public Library.

Your task, should you choose to accept, will be to use those misspellings to find a special cache hidden in the library.

Instructions

  1. Go to the above coordinates.
  2. Find all 11 misspelled names and words on the mural.
  3. Using the letters that are missing or should be removed from these words, generate 4 English words, using the clues below.
  4. Arrange the words into a nonsense phrase, by ordering from shortest to longest.
  5. Note the word spelled in the bike rack in front of the library.
  6. Go to this page and enter the phrase and word.
  7. Using the directions on the page, go find the cache!

Additional Information

Clues to the misspellings: (in no particular order)

  1. Great physicist
  2. Native American figurine
  3. Greek hero
  4. Egyptian queen
  5. Composer and pianist
  6. English playwright
  7. Renaissance artist
  8. Dutch painter
  9. South seas impressionist
  10. Italian sculptor
  11. German painter Max

Making the phrase:

For each misspelled word, determine what letters need to be added or removed to spell the word properly.

For example, to change the misspelled word cashe into cache, you would remove an 's' and add a 'c'. So both 's' and 'c' should be added to your list of letters.

Words that only have adjacent letters in the wrong order don't add anything to the list. For example, if the word Tuesday were misspelled as Teusday, no letters would be added from it.

Once you have all the letters (there are 14 total), turn them into four English words. Clues for the words are:

  1. pronoun
  2. color
  3. standard
  4. fruit

A good resource for this is Andy's Anagram Solver.

Once you have all four words, arrange them into a phrase by ordering them from shortest word to longest word. For example, if your words were he, yellow, default, and pear you would create the phrase "he pear yellow default."
