This is a Momma cache located just off the General James A. Van Fleet State Trail with access from the Bay Lake Trailhead. Don't forget to coat yourself in bug spray, there are some mean mosquitoes here! Inside this MONSTER cache you will find a whole mess of smaller caches that you can take and hide somewhere else! They will be complete caches including a log book, trading items, and pens and pencils when appropriate. Please try to control yourself and only take one cache per group so others can participate as well. If you want to trade a complete cache, or just add some if Momma is getting low that would be nice too. Also, please don't put "trade stuff" in Momma, she likes to keep a clean house... but feel free to drop and trade travel bugs here, because she always welcomes visitors!
Well now that you have one of these caches, what are you going to do with it?
- First, please read Dave's Opinions on Geocache Hiding (you don’t have to agree with everything, but there are some good thoughts here).
- Second, take into consideration that although Momma loves her children, she wants them to move out and not keep coming home for her to do their laundry. So find a spot that is at least 4 miles away from Momma and 2 miles away from their other siblings (feel free to move the kids to another state if you want).
- Third, although all my kids are girls... Momma's kids are all boys, so they must keep the family name. When creating your cache page please call it "Mother Lode - then whatever you want to put here".
- Finally, Momma likes to be remembered on holidays and stuff, so put a link back to this cache page somewhere in your description. To figure out how to use HTML on your cache page, go to this website then copy, paste and edit stuff (that's what I do for all of mine).
That's it! If you're OK with Momma's requests, then feel free to adopt one of her boys...Now please don't misunderstand me... I am not going to do your cache maintenance and I don't want credit for your hide... I want credit for finding your hide! That is… if and when I can. By calling your cache "Mother Lode - Blah Blah", it is very easy for Momma to do an advanced search by keyword so that she can keep up with all her boys. So what do Momma's kids look like? Well she has two small ammo cans, five decon containers and four micros.
Don't forget to write Momma a nice note in her log book when you see her, and be sure to take your picture with the enclosed camera so that she can remember your visit! Have fun and happy caching!
