Geocache Description:


Placed this cache with a group of friends on a Columbus Day hike. A nice 2.5 mile hike along the Red Creek River near Laneville, WV. This cache is a part of the Dolly Sods circuit located below Dolly Sods but still part of the wilderness. This is an easy hike the only difficulty is the trail is marked by small piles of rocks every hundred feet apart or so. At one point the original trail is destroyed because of a slide along the Red Creek River. The cache is located above a beautiful waterfall at the base of a tree within just a few feet off the trail. It is advised not to travel along the trail during heavy rains as flooding has been a problem.
