Are you afraid of the dark...2 Traditional Cache
Dennisfauchez: Went to the cache site today... It is indeed missing.
Another one bites the dust...
I am archiving this cache permenently, though it is being replaced (in a new locaction) by another cache. Look for 3rd times a charm. It should be out very soon.
Sorry to the cachers who went in search of the muggled container...

Are you afraid of the dark has returned. Once a cache that took
people throught a series of Rock climbs and River crossing, it's
now a rather simple cache in one of Port Colbornes most beautiful
conservation areas.
Once, this cache was a 4.5/4.5. Now, it's much easier. If you
didn't get the chance to check-out "Are You Afraid of The Dark"
before the muggles forced it into early retirement, here's your
chance to get it.
I retrieved what was left of the original cache from Mountain
Mills Park's Decew Falls and I placed it (refilled and cleaned out)
in Mud Lake. It's now a themed cache in memeroy of it's original
placement. This means that the items should be darkness related.
Glowsticks, Candles, Flashlight... these are some of the things
already inside the cache. And if you would like to add an item that
is just fear theamed that would be alright too.
Hopefully this time round the cache will have a little better luck
than what it had in Thorold. Please remember to cover it VERY well,
this cache was intended to be placed in a very dark place so it's a
bright container, and it's not very small at all. It's now placed
in a forest where there is more than enough light to let the Teal
shine.
And for those night cachers out there, this one should be on your
list. Just be aware that their ARE coyotes in the area. P.S. Be
prepared to deal with thorns once your there.
LoL
(And the ranking of this cache's size is "Regular" though it's
rather large, so no worries with those bigger items here)
Cache maintenance performed on : 02/26/05 Everything looking good,
needed no work...
Note: the stream you can see on the south side of the lake is
heavily poluted. The water flows brown from all the chemicals that
are released at the compost pile in the Elm St. Dump up-river. If
you have a dog with you please don't let him/her drink from this
river. There are high counts of pottasium, nitrogen, and other
nasty chemicals in there... (Thankfully they made this ditch to
stop this junk from ruinning the wetlands, they have done enough
damage there already.)
