Triathlon is a theme cache that celebrates the Triathlon. Tri-athletes are the most physically fit, fine tuned, hard-cored athletes you will ever find and you MUST be one of those to find this cache (not really):o).
In this cache, you must either be a world-class Geocacher, golfer or fisherman! The reason for this combination is this: the cache is located very near Hough Park Lake (a great place to wet a line), Oak Hills Golf Center (a great place for a game of golf) and, of course, anywhere is a great place to Geocache.
All of the original contents of the cache relate to Geocaching, fishing or golfing.The hardest part of the cache is finding the correct place to park. You MUST be able to drive to and park at N38 32.398 x W092 11.029 (which is also the starting point of “What’s Wrong with this Picture Cache.”). This is the entrance to Hough Park Lake and the only place that is open to non-golfers.
Please do not cut across any portion of the golf course or any private property to get to the cache (you’ll get in really big trouble and get this cache yanked). Follow the trail along the west side of the lake. The cache is just west of the trail in the woods. The golf course is up the hill, so please don’t venture too far to the west of the lake.
This cache is approved by the Jeff City Parks Department. In keeping with Jefferson City's park Geocaching policy, out-of-towners are encouraged to mention where they're from when they post their online find logs.
