Geocache Description:

This is small cache in a unique container placed near a popular eagle-viewing campground outside Helena, MT.

Canyon Ferry Dam near Helena, MT is one of the best eagle viewing areas from mid-October through December due to the salmon runs. The Canyon Ferry Visitor Center is open to the public during this three-month period; stop by and check out the eagle info. Take Custer Street from Helena, leading past the Helena Regional Airport, then follow Canyon Ferry road to the actual town. Just past the Visitor Center, turn left towards the town of York. This is great day use fishing area at all times of the year; the best eagle viewing at the campground is from dawn to 10:00 AM. We spotted a lone Bald Eagle fishing in the creek on the way back to Helena from placing the cache.
