Geocache Description:

Regular size cache located at an old Cowboy Camp that is now getting a new look! ( Visit the Gallery )


The cache is located just inside the old Cowboy Camp. Cowboy Camp, the BLM site between Bear Creek and Hwy 16, approximately one mile south of Highway 20, is open to the public. Due to the increased use of the site by equestrian and hiking visitors, BLM has undertaken a $265,000 project to construct a new parking lot, restroom facilities and wildlife viewing area. The area is called Cowboy Camp.

Telephone Note: There is a calling card only pay phone one mile North at the Junction of Highway 20 & 16.


Getting across Bear Creek to the West of this new facility is being left up to the public lands user because the BLM will not be installing a bridge of any kind.

Be sure to visit the "Cowboy Campos" (observation decks) @
