Cash-Poor Cache Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Sapience Trek: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Look for a gallon-size cylindrical container containing a log book, pen, and trade items.

This multi-cache is located in Walnut Grove Cemetery on Onondaga Hill. The first set of coordinates will take you to a rather unique monument - tap on it and you'll understand why - and by doing a bit of math at this spot, you'll obtain the coordinates that will lead you to the cache.

Your first task is to count the number of the most common letter in the family surname. Multiply that number by ten (10) and then subtract your sum from the final two numbers in the original North coordinates and you will then have your new numbers.

Second, find HEZEKIAH and reverse the numbers of his age.
Subtract the reversed numbers from the final two numbers in the original West coordinates, then add 100 and you will have your new numbers.

This very old and very beautiful cemetery, established in 1798, is the final resting place not only of many who played an important part in the history of Onondaga County but also some Revolutionary War Veterans as well. There are many headstones and monuments reflecting names that will be familiar to Syracuse-area residents; Makyes, Broad, Fellows, Wadsworth, and Fay are just a few. You might enjoy taking a few minutes to explore the grounds to see how many names you recognize.
