This cache has been archived.

Team Bam Bam: I have feared this cache may not have come through the floods this spring. Fears confirmed.

Geocache Description:

Along the Passaic River in the Great Piece Meadow on the Montville / Lincoln Park / Fairfield border. This cache is best accessed via the river. I cannot speak to the difficulty of approaching this cache by other routes, though I suspect it would not be pleasant. This could be done as a 'frozen swamp' hike in winter.

As stated, if approaching by 'land' you are on your own as far as the logistics go. There are multiple places to put a boat in & take it out. The river is quite tortuous and at some points you may think you are headed in the wrong direction - just stick with it. We put in at 40.54.129, 074.20.185 where there is parking at the end of a dead-end street and a short path to the water. We took out near the small parking area located at 40.53.857, 074.16.561 and used the short dirt road to access the water. Floating this stretch of river would send you past this cache as well as 'The Passaic Hideaway' and within 0.2mi of 'When The Coast Is Clear' although the later is better accessed via the reccomended route on the cache page.

Many thanks to BMSquared #1 and Straatmaker5 #1 for helping on this placement.

Rollin’ with some cajun queen.
Wishin’ I were a fast freight train,
Just a chooglin’ on down to new orleans."
