Das Rennfeld ist ein fantastischer Aussichtsberg östlich von
Bruck an der Mur. Bei klarem Wetter reicht die Sicht vom Triglav
über den Dachstein bis zur Rax. Im Gipfelbereich

Warum der cache „Radioaktivität“
heißt werdet Ihr herausfinden wenn Ihr erstmal am Gipfel steht.
ACHTUNG! Die Koordinaten sind vom Parkplatz bei der Pischk Alm und nicht die vom cache.
Für alle die sich für Variante 2 oder 3 entscheiden gibt’s
einen Bonus Cache den man im Abstieg leicht mitmachen kann. Für die Varianten 2
und 3 empfehle ich die Mitnahme einer Wanderkarte. Alle die sich für die
Variante 1 entscheiden können den Bonus natürlich auch machen, müssen dann aber
einige Höhenmeter zusätzlich einrechnen so das man besser gleich von Frauenberg
losgeht.
Es gibt 3 Arten wie
man den Cache angehen kann:
1. Kurze Wanderung von der Pischk
Alm auf das Rennfeld ca. 1 -1 ½ Stunden one way.
2. Rundwanderung von Frauenberg auf das Rennfeld und über
den Buchecksattel wieder retour nach
Frauenberg. 4-5 Stunden round trip.
3. Mountainbike Runde von Bruck aus auf das Rennfeld und
über dem Buchecksattel und Frauenberg wieder nach Bruck. 4 Stunden round trip.
Bei Version 2. und 3. kann man den Bonus Cache ganz leicht
mitnehmen.
1. Kurze Wanderung
von der Pischk Alm:
Anfahrt: Mit dem Auto zum Hauptbahnhof von Bruck.
Unmittelbar vor dem Hauptbahnhof bei N47 24.725 E15 16.484 rechts halten.
(Braunes Schild mit Aufschrift Pischk)
Dieser Straße bis N47 24.582 E15 17.155 folgen. Links unter
der Bahn durch und steil bergauf in den Glanz Graben. Dieser Straße bis zum
Gasthaus Pischk Alm folgen. Bei N47 24.432 E15 19.023 endet der Asphalt. Von nun an auf einer Erdstraße teilweise
steil mit einigen Kehren und schlechtem Belag weiter bergauf. Dieser ca. 6 KM
lange Abschnitt ist nicht ganz einfach zu fahren da es keine seitlichen
Begrenzungen gibt und es bei Nässe sehr rutschig wird. Bitte vorsichtig fahren
da einem die MTB’ler mit sehr hoher Geschwindigkeit
entgegenkommen.
Man kann beim großen Parkplatz bei der Pischk
Alm parken N47 23.735 E15 19.942 oder wenn man einen Platz findet einige Meter
weiter bei einer Schranke. N47 23.645 E15 20.098.
Vom Parkplatz aus folgt man nun dem Wanderweg 712 zum
Ottokar Kernstock Haus.
Bei N47 23.585 E15 20.905 muss man sich entscheiden ob man
über einen schönen Waldweg (Weg 712) oder eine eher langweilige Forststraße
(Weg 712a) weitergehen will. Siehe Bild.
So oder so erreicht man des Rennfeld bei N47 24.268 E15
21.580
Dort findet man einen runden „Tisch“ der die umliegenden
Berge benennt.
Wann wurde dieser „Tisch“ errichtet ?
Jahreszahl = abcd
Im Südosten liegt ein Berg der auch einen Cache auf dem
Gipfel hat und laut Tafel genau 1549 M hoch ist.

Der Cache ist bei N47 24,acf E015 21,edg
Die Box ist recht groß und mit Steinen beschwert bzw.
getarnt.
Bitte beschwert die Box wieder gut damit sie über den Winter
nicht davonschwimmt.
Wer den Bonus Cache machen will muss sich die „geheime Zahl“
auf der 1. Seite des Logbuchs notieren!

2. Rundwanderung von
Frauenberg auf das Rennfeld und über den Buchecksattel wieder retour nach
Frauenberg.
Auf einer gut ausgebauten Asphaltstraße
nach Frauenberg fahren. Nach der berühmten Wallfahrtskirche gibt’s linker Hand
einen Parkplatz. N47 25.578 E15 20.506
Von dort aus auf dem im letzten
Drittel steilen Weg Nr. 715 auf das
Rennfeld.
Rest siehe oben.
Nach dem Cache dann Richtung Osten auf dem Markierten Weg
Nr. 702a Richtung Buchecksattel und/oder Bonus Cache.
Vom Buchecksattel dann auf Weg Nr. 714 über die Jager Alm zum Auto
zurück.
3. Mountainbike Runde
von Bruck aus auf das Rennfeld und über dem Buchecksattel und Frauenberg wieder
nach Bruck.
Start am Bahnhof von Bruck an der Mur. Auffahrt bis zum
Schranken nach der Pischk Alm wie bei der kurzen
Wanderung oben beschrieben.
Beim Parkplatz dann denn linken Wegabzweig nehmen. Dieser ist zwar offiziell für MTB’ler gesperrt dennoch sind an einem schönen Tag bis zu
30 Biker gleichzeitig beim Ottokar
Kernstock Haus. Diese Auffahrt ist die Trainingsrunde für alle Biker aus der
Gegend. Es sind also keine Probleme zu erwarten. Wer fit ist kann bis zum
Gipfel fahren.
Wie man den cache findet steht
weiter oben bei der kurzen Wanderung.
Nach dem Cache dann Richtung Osten auf dem markierten Weg
Nr. 702a Richtung Buchecksattel und/oder Bonus Cache. Dieser Abschnitt geht
sehr steil bergab. Vorsicht! Bei Nässe lieber schieben.
Vom Buchecksattel kann man dann den Wanderweg Nr. 714 nach
Frauenberg nehmen (nicht so gut da man etwas schieben muss) oder unmittelbar
vor dem Sattel auf einer vom Wanderweg aus sichtbaren Forststraße nach
Frauenberg fahren. Um auf diese Straße zu gelangen muss man vom Wanderweg nach
links einige Meter durch Gestrüpp bergab schieben oder tragen.
In Frauenberg bei N47 25.594 E15 20.166 dann dem Weg Nr. 714
nach Bruck folgen. Im Zweifel immer links bergab halten.
The Rennfeld is a
summit with an enormous view including the Slovenian Triglav
as well as the Dachstein and Rax

You will find out why the cache is named
“radioactivity” by the time you reach the top.
Attention! The coordinates point to the
parking-lot at Pischk Alm
and not to the cache.
For those doing variant 2 or 3 there is a bonus
cache waiting for you on the way down.
If you choose to do variant 2 or 3 take a
hiking map of the area with.
Everybody else is also kindly invited to do the
bonus but you will have to do additional elevation gains. Better start from Frauenberg if you want to do the bonus too.
There are 3 ways to do
this cache:
1. Short hike starting from Pischk
Alm walking to Rennfeld. 1
– 1 ½ hours one way.
2. Hiking round trip from Frauenberg
to Rennfeld and back to Frauenberg
via Buchecksattel. 4–5 hours round trip.
3. Mountain bike round trip starting in Bruck going all the way up to Rennfeld
and via a technical downhill section to Buchecksattel
und finally to Bruck. 4 hours round trip.
Doing version 2 and 3 you can easily take the
bonus cache with you.
1. Short hike starting
from Pischk Alm walking to Rennfeld.
Approach: Right before the main station of Bruck an der
Mur at N47 24.725 E15 16.484 keep right. (Brown sign saying Pischk). Follow
this road up to N47 24.582 E15 17.155.
From there turn left, undergoing the railway,
driving uphill into the Glanz Graben.
Follow this road until the Pischk Alm
inn. At N47 24.432 E15 19.023 the asphalt ends and a steep dirt road winds
itself up the mountain in numerous hairpin bends. This section is not easy to
master when it’s wet because it gets quite slippery. Drive carefully since Mountain
Bikers a coming down the same way with enormous speed. You can park your car at
the big Pischk Alm parking-lot
at N47 23.735 E15 19.942 or a few meters onward at a bar at N47 23.645 E15
20.098.
From the parking follow the marked path Nr. 712
to the
Ottokar Kernstock
house.
At N47 23.585 E15 20.905 you have to decide if
you take the rather boring forest road Nr. 712a or the much nicer hiking path
712 up to the top. See picture.
Anyway you go you will end up at the Rennfeld summit at N47 24.268 E15 21.580
There you will find a round “table” naming the
surrounding mountains.
Let abcd be the year
when the table was installed.
In the south east there is another mountain with
a cache on its top and which is, according to the “table”, exactly 1549 M high.
Let e be the number of letters in the name of
this mountain.

Please renew the camouflage and the weight to
keep the cache at its place during the winter.

2. Hiking round trip
from Frauenberg to Rennfeld
and back to Frauenberg via Buchecksattel.
Drive to Frauenberg
on a good asphalt road. Soon after the famous pilgrimage church there is a
parking at N47 25.578 E15 20.506 on the left hand side.
From there take the marked hiking path Nr. 715
to Rennfeld. In the end the path gets quite steep. For
finding the cache see above at the short hiking section.
After finding the cache, take the marked path
Nr. 702a which leads to Buchecksattel and the bonus
cache.
From Buchecksattel
take path Nr. 714 that leads back to the car. You will find the nice inn “Jager Alm” on your way back.
3. Mountain bike round
trip starting in Bruck going all the way up to Rennfeld and via a technical downhill section to Buchecksattel und finally to Bruck.
Start from the Bruck an der Mur
main station and ride up to the bar at N47 23.645 E15 20.098 like described
above in the short hiking section.
From there take the left road. This road is
officially closed for MTBers but nobody seems to care
since you might meet up to 30 bikers at the Ottokar Kernstock house on a beautiful day.
This road is the training loop for all the
local bikers. No Problems to be expected. If you are fit enough you can ride all the way
up to the summit.
For finding the cache see above at the short
hiking section.
After the cache take path Nr. 702 leading to
the east and on to Buchecksattel or the bonus cache.
This section of the trail is a technical downhill. If it’s wet rather push your
bike.
From Buchecksattel
take path Nr. 714 to Frauenberg (not really
recommended since you have to push a lot) or take the forest road on the left
shortly before reaching Buchecksattel. To reach this
road you have to pusch/cary your bike for a few
meters through brushes.
Once in Frauenberg at
N47 25.594 E15 20.166 follow the way Nr. 714 to Bruck.
When in doubt keep to the left.
