Geocache Description:

This is cache number four in our Classics series.

The others in this series can be found at the following links:

"If One Only Knew the Right Way!"

"Merely This and Nothing More...."

"Baker Street Memoir"

"The End"

"The Voices Among the Trees"

The cache is not at the above listed coordinates.
This is, however, a really good parking area.
The exact location of the cache can be determined from the passage of text on the cache page.

This cache was inspired by the novel

"The Last of the Mohicans"
by
James Fenimore Cooper

The route taken by Hawkeye lay along the banks of the river. He had come this way many times before with Chingachgook as his guide, but never in dire circumstances such as these. Magua was not far ahead, and Hawkeye knew the Huron would show no mercy to the two sisters. He and his Mohican companion were their only hope. "I'll seek a readier path," he said to his companion, "or all hope will be lost."
Suddenly, appearing from the forest came David Gamut, the young Calvinist who had always been one of Hawkeye's strongest allies. He had apparently been tracking the Huron on his own.
"I know where Magua is keeping the sisters," he said to Hawkeye.
Then, turning to Chingachgook and speaking in a tongue the Indian could understand he said,

"The sisters are being held at the following location....."

A-WOH CHA GAH AH-JAH AH-NAH

Chingachgook understood at once the place the Minister was attempting to covey. Looking over at the Mohican, Hawkeye could sense the urgency the Indian was feeling. He exclaimed,"We must hurry if we are to save the lives of the sisters. You will lead the way." Chingachgook took off speedily down the path as Hawkeye followed, hoping to himself that they were not already too late.

There are two possible paths to the location of this cache. One path will be more difficult than the other. One path takes the high road, the other takes the low road. The terrain rating is based on the easier of the two paths. I'm not going to tell you which is which.

You will learn a little history while figuring out the cache location.

The cache is a smaller ammo can painted black with a white Geocaching blaze on each side.

It is full of really good trade items.

We hope you have a good time with this cache.

Good Luck!
