Chopwell Woodland Park is a very popular place to walk, and to ride bikes/horses. A survey in 1999 indicated approximately 70,000 visitors annually using the Wood, which is a surprisingly large number for a small woodland - Kielder Forest has the same number of visitors! There are now eight sculptures sited within the Woodland Park and work is currently underway on a ninth sculpture. Some of the unsurfaced footpaths are not suitable for horse riding/mountain biking, therefore, riders and cyclists are requested not to use them, in particular, the Easy Access Trail which has been installed especially for the less-able. From the beginning of December you can buy your Christmas tree, decorations etc. enjoy the carols and see Santa - also by floodlight after dark - proceeds to maintain the forest, paths etc.
Cache contains: Plasters, screenwipes, batteries, scissors, tape, eraser, mini torch, ball, pen, dice, sharpener, finger paint etc.
