Salute to Veterans Traditional Cache

This is a great spot for views. A short hike to the top gives you views of Bucksport and Prospect to the south and Winterport to the north. You are looking for a standard ammo case.
WARNING--- (Posted 6/5/06) This blueberry season, there have been no trespassing signs with warnings of possible berry spraying posted by the access road. There is another access road near the river, but it looks like that may be posted too. This would mean that, unless you come in from Rt. 1A in the woods, this cache is inaccessable during blueberry season. The concern is damaging the bushes, as well as exposure to the spray. Please respect the landowners wishes and observe the signs when they are out. ---WARNING
This cache was placed as a thank you to our veterans. I have placed personal mementos from Army and Air Force duty, as well as a Navy coin from another cache. Feel free to add ribbons and military coins to the collection. I added my new signature item as well.
To get started, drive Rt. 1A to Frankfort. Find the Brooklyn Side; Treat Point Road near the bridge at N44° 36.598 W 068° 52.350. 1/10th mile later, take a left at the Y and go 1/2 mile. You will come to a gate. From there, it's a 1/4 mile hike to the cache. Enjoy the view!
