Geocache Description:

Located just to the north of a prominent outcropping of red rock, is a cache in a niche with a great view of the Red Sea!

This cache, in a lonely desert spot on a remote coast is slowly getting less remote by the day. Tourism has found the Red Sea coast of southen Egypt, where the sun shines every day of every year. This cache is hidden not far from the Kharamana resort, but far enough that it should not be pludered by interlopers. This place is the conjunction of hard desert and open sea. Here in a dry wadi a bit back from the sea, but still in view of that incredible blueness, is a small orange container hidden low in a niche with a flat rock covering the entrance. The cache contains various smakk trinkets, and is about 10 by 10 cm in size so bring small items to trade.

The rocks nearby are full of fossils from a time when the sea level was higher and the climate wetter than now. The shore below the cache is wild and unspoiled, loaded with interesting shells and cast up bits of coral. Its a nice spot to stop at in the midst of so much desert and escape the over manicured cleanliness of a resort environment!

So stop by and see the red rocks, climb the red rocks, find a cache, marvel at the confluence of desert and water and dip in the red sea!
