on 6/9/2007 I received the following email from RockHopper77:
I've got a story for you! I was on my bike heading for "Run for the Border," and when I came around the corner to the back of the parking lot I ran right into two cops. I tried to casually circle the parking lot and head back out, and was going to come back some other time to search for the cache, but they stopped me. They said there is a lot of drug dealing and stashing back there and that I looked suspicious on my bike, wearing a backpack, riding in an empty parking lot behind the bookstore. I told them I was just cruising around on my bike but they said there was no reason for me to be back there, they were going to detain and search me, etc. So finally I explained that I was geocaching, and what geocaching was...that's when they looked at each other, and one of them reached into his car and pulled out...your cache!!
They said they had just found it after someone had reported suspicious activity back there, and they thought it was drug related!! They said they were about to take it back to the station. I explained geocaching and how it's a harmless activity...I guess I convinced them because they let me leave with the cache, but they said if they see it there again they'll take it in as "evidence."
Anyway it made for a pretty interesting afternoon of caching, and now I have your cache. What exactly would you like me to do with it?? I could attach it to another light pole and send you the coords. Let me know if you have another idea. Very nicely made box by the way!
This cache haad a four and 1/2 year "Run" so it is now time to officially archive "Run for the Border".TVDon
