S.S. Minto ? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

The Professor & Mary Ann: Guess the reality is that it is time to let this one go.

This old boat has sustained considerable damage through the summer. I hope it was not due to cachers. However, with the current condition of the wreckage and the slippery terrain around it, we bid this one farewell.

Thanks to all who so graciously shared their time and comments for this cache. Who knows, maybe spring will provide a chance to revive this.

The Professor

Geocache Description:

There have been other ship wrecks on this island. However, this old "boat" didn't come across the waters. Be careful around this rusty old wreck which predates the S.S. Minnow.

The cache is not in the old "boat" that is high above the water line. Caution is necessary as there are many traveling the island trails, it is very busy here. Mary Ann found the spot where the visiting natives honor the place by leaving trinkets.

*Note: It can be very slippery when wet. There is no need to go down the slope, at least intentionally. When wet the terrain difficulty can easily go to 3.

Please use caution as this old boat is rusty and has some sharp edges.

The natives hid this a little deeper after this place was exploited. Please rehide completely and be alert for others coming by on the trails.
