Geocache Description:

Make a visit to one of Norways most modern building complexes. The cache is Acessible in Winter, and possible the only one in the world with free WLAN covering available to the general public.


Telenor was just a few years ago situated at about 40 adresses in Oslo. This location replaced them all. Around 6000 men and women are now working here. The complex was officially opended in september 2002.

FOR THOSE WHO LOVES NUMBERS:

  • The complex is 250 meter long and 80 meter wide
  • It is equipped with 200 wlan areals and 32 000 network connectors.
  • It has 2700 kms with signal cables for computers
  • It has 20 000 exhaust fans.
  • It has 500 kms with power cables.

THE ART:

Daniel Burén (born 1938) has made the 92 columns at the square. They are made as a extention of the construction in the parking house underneath.

Jenny Hozler (born 1950) has made the decoration of the cornice at the northern wall. The art piece is called “Running letters”

Jon Arne Mogstad (born 1950) has made the glass wall on the left side of the smaller house you will see from the cache site.

 

The cache is best visited after sunset, but is always avaliable. Take care; you may be watched!
