This cache is located near the lookoff at the end of the Partridge Island Trail, which is part of the Fundy Shore Ecotour Trail system.
Partridge Island is one of our favourite spots in Nova Scotia. It has hiking, scenic views, beachcombing, rockhounding, tides, history, etc. Champlain visited the area in 1607 and collected amethyst from the beach. The Saxby Gale in 1869 created a long stone beach/causeway in the water between the island and the mainland; you can now drive along the beach to the island where the trail begins.
Along the trail, visitors are rewarded with amazing views of the Minas Basin in all directions and on a clear day, six lighthouses are visible from the observation platform.
Cachers are encouraged to post photos of their visits to help record the change of seasons and weather in the area. The trail is open year-round but there is no winter maintenance on the steep trails so be careful.
Additional information on the history of the area can be found at:

The cache is located about 20 metres from the lookoff area at the end of the trail in an out-of-the-way place about 1 metre off the ground.
