Glomma is the longest river of Norway. It starts by mouth of Lake
Aursunden in north and run 604 km to Frederikstad in Østfold
county. The water collecting field is about 1790 km²
The hidingplace is located near Røstefossen powerstation (info on
the place) and it’s a good place for a rest. The place is full
winter-available. Either you want to picnic or to make a nap
on a long cartrip this is the place.
In the summer you can be lucky to meet a beaver here. Make a little
walk along the riverbank in north direction and you will soon
notice the marks on the trees. The beaver is hard working but don’t
like to be disturbed. Be silent and patient.
In winter you can have another experience. The powerstation release
a lot of water every day. When the temperature is very low, the
high humidity will freeze and make the trees as very beautiful
sculptures. But be carefull. The humidity will attack your skin too
and you feel it terrible cold. Remember cap and gloves.
The new cache is round box of plastic(7cm)and it's only good for
small tradethings.
Original contents: logbook, pencil, geocaching info, and som small
trade items.
