Geocache Description:

A small cache place at the very center of a world famous park.

Frognerparken, or Vigelandsparken is one of the most visited
tourist attractions in Oslo. Busloads of tourists ar guided
around the beautifully laid out park, admiring all the
statues made by norwegian artist Gustav Vigeland.

The area was until 1914 'just a park'.
1914 a celebration exhibition marking 100 years of
the norwegian constitution was held in the park.
One of the main attractions of that exhibition was an
african village!

After debating what was to become of all the buildings
set up for the exhibition, and the future for the park
was not decided until 1924 when a plan made by artist
Vigeland was chosen. Construction of the park was in
most parts finished by 1947.

Oslo City Museum and the Vigeland Museum south in/of the
park is also well wort a visit.

If you want good and reasonable priced beer you are not
only in the wrong country. Wrong park as well.
Try the area around the cache Akerselva Exit.
