This cache is intended to remind us that, although we will be
doing some easy math to move around the park, that it’s NOT just
about the numbers. It’s more about the experience, because, you
never know what’s going to happen next.
Please obey the signs and stay on the trails, and follow the
stages. It will only take a few more minutes to complete this cache
as shown here, even if you are already familiar with the area.
Please read the descriptions and follow the math carefully. Don't
assume anything.
Also note that there is a leash law for our four-footed caching
friends in this city, and, because there are other animals on the
site, it would be wise to follow the leash rules for the safety of
all.
Stage 1:
We will start the tour at a light pole beside the parking lot at
the co-ordinates shown above. On this pole is an identification
tag, in the format _ _ _ _ 6- A. Take only the first 4
numbers of that tag (checksum = 7), divide it by 1,000 and add
it to each of the following co-ordinates:

This will bring you past the playground area (expect to stop
here for a while if you have kids with you) and lead you to ...
Stage 2:
The base of a set of metal stairs. If you can not safely navigate
the stairs, a paved ramp can be found near the exit of the petting
farm approximately 55m to the south (left) of the top of the
stairs.
You should be standing beside a fenced pond, where there should be
several fowl critters. There are areas under the fence where they
can get out, so, be aware that you may be the target of their
begging. Especially if you happen to reach into your pocket. If you
want to feed them, please bring along some suitable food. They will
appreciate it, especially in winter.
Did you count the steel stairs on the way down? If not, please
count them now (this can be done without leaving the pathway).
Don't forget the middle step. Divide this number by 100, and add it
to each of the co-ordinates below:

This should lead you northward, along the fenced pond, until you
arrive at...
Stage 3:
Upon arrival at this spot, find the manufacturers information
plate, and note the load rating. Divide this number by 10,000 and
add it to each of the co-ordinates below:

This should lead you eastward, along the upper path to ...
Stage 4:
The reason that we brought you here. Please take some time to
wander around this area and read the plaques.
Reflect a while. Where were you that day?
On the large, main plaque, you will find a number, representing the
number of people that are honoured here. Please take this number,
divide it by 100, and add it to each of the co-ordinates below:

This should point you toward the final cache location. There are
two ramps down to the cache area within view.
Please stay on the pathway. In only a minute or
two, you will be at ...
Stage 5 the final:
The cache is a clear plastic container (approximately 1 litre),
which has been hidden to avoid it being discovered accidentally.
Please be extra-careful to avoid being seen and replace the cover
to hide the cache when finished.
This cache is handicapped friendly until the last metre. It is
also bike, pet and family friendly. It should be winter friendly
unless we experience a prolonged cold spell with strong north
winds. While most of the walkways are packed gravel or paved, some
walkways may become muddy after prolonged rains.
On the property, there is also a petting farm (no charge), which
operates from Mid-May to Mid-October from 10 a.m. to dusk.
There are no posted hours on the main park, so, this cache could
be considered “night cache friendly”. Some cachers have mentioned
that doing this cache at night adds some interesting sights and
sounds to the experience.
Cache maintenance was last performed on: October 6,
2006.
