Located in Faust Park along the Governor Bates Trail.
The Governor Bates Trail is a fairly new addition to Faust Park. It
is back and away from the Butterfly House and connects Thornhill to
Lamella Barn along a 1.3 mile meandering linear trail. You can
start at either Thornhill or Lamella Barn. The closest you can park
is ~1/3 mile from the cache.
The trail descends into the Missouri River Bottom and has an
elevation change of ~150 feet, giving the cache its terrain rating.
Stinging nettles are known to cover the area near the cache. But
once you are at the cache location stop, look and listen. Yes,
there is the water plant in the distance but nearby you can find
Chickadees, Cardinals and other wildlife. Enjoy the stop since its
a big hill back to the parking lot.
