Geocache Description:

This is a small geocache in the Empire Ranch/Las Cienegas National Conservation Area managed by the BLM. The Conservation Area requires neither permit nor fees to visit.

We approached this area from our last geocache Mattie Canyon along EC 914. The cache is on EC 914. This road is marked 4WD however we weren't in a 4WD but many people would call us crazy. We came south on EC 914 from the junction of EC 901 and EC 910. You can also reach this cache off of South Road (EC 900) EC 914 is at a 4 way junction with South Road where EC 914 goes northeast and EC 919 heads south east. South road in this one small area is fairly east-west.

There are a zillion gates to open and close along EC 914. And they all seem to have a different method to keep the gate closed. We even had to wait for one big mother of a cow-steer-whatever to mosey on off the road. He was half the size of our car so we weren't going to argue! Most of his herd had lots of pointy sharp horns too so we wanted to stay on their friendly side. Anyway, in the area of the cache that appears to be no evidence of cow usage (no cow pies). Do pull off the road to park. Cache is in a small plastic bottle, not a tin this time.

From this cache we headed to EC 900-South Road and headed south to Hwy 82, stopping at rst#11's geocache: Forgotten Corral. You should too, unless you already have.
