dopo oltre due mesi dalla mia ultima nota, non ho ricevuto alcuna risposta.

Per questa ragione sono costretto ad archiviare questo cache. Se non lo hai ancora fatto, per favore raccogli ogni resto del cache al più presto possibile.
Se avete intenzione di intervenire sul cache, una volta completata l'operazione per favore lasciatemi un messaggio con il numero waypoint GC relativo al cache. Sarò più che lieto di verificare nuovamente il cache per verificare la sua conformità con le linee guida.

after more than two months from my last note I have not receive any answer and no action has been taken on the cache. For this reason, I am archiving it. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

Geocache Description:


A fantastic panoramic place, very easy to reach.
Un meraviglioso luogo panoramico, facile da raggiungere.

Massaciuccoli is a small village which gives the name to the lake located near the sea, between Viareggio and Lucca, at few km N from Pisa. The town is located at oriental side of the lake, and can be easily reached driving for about 30 minutes from each of cities named above. This small village was knew from the Roman period, since it was a holiday site for the nobility: in fact, ruins of a roman villa were found, and a small museum has put in place to describe the local life and to show daily items used by roman inhabitants. A very beautiful mosaic was found on the floor of roman villa, and it has been moved to the the museum. This "otium villa" (leisure villa) was probably built in I century b.C., and was owned by Venuleii, a powerful pisan family, member of roman senate; near the villa were built some thermal baths, whose ruins are still in place.
The cache is located near the baths, and you can have a view over the whole lake, to Viareggio, Pisa and, when the weather is very good, to Gorgona, Capraia and Elba Islands. I strongly suggest to visit the small Massaciuccoli's harbour too (part of Natural Reserve of Chiarone), where there are a very nice Lake Museum and a long walking path on the swamp for lovers of nature and birdwatching, both built and maintained by local branch of LIPU (Italian League for Birds Protection), and totally free.
The cache has been put on a panoramic church garden near the thermal baths. You can reach your cache directly by car, but I suggesto to park at the harbour (N43°50.16', E10°21.4) and walk about 10 minutes, following the path between olive trees.

Necklace "Emotion", black sand from Linosa Island, 50 old liras, magnetic soccer player, 2 p.tas stamp, a piece of marble from Carrara caves, a pin of Mel Book Store (Florence), an italian Amnesty International sticker, small cotton bracelet, pencil, rubber, instructions.

NOTE: please, hide very well the cache after your log: there are some gardeners!


Massaciuccoli è un paesino che dà il nome al lago posto vicino al mare, tra Viareggio e Lucca, a pochi chilometri a nord di Pisa. Il paese è posto sulla sponda orientale del lago, ed è raggiungibile con mezz'ora di auto da ciascuna delle città indicate. Massaciuccoli è nota fin dal periodo romano, ed era luogo di vacanza per la nobiltà locale: sono infatti stati trovati resti di una villa romana, ed è stato istituito un piccolo museo che raccoglie, tra l'altro, vari oggetti di uso quotidiano ritrovati. Tra i ritrovamenti, un bellissimo mosaico, che è stato restaurato recentemente. Vera e propria villa di "otium", è stata edificata circa nel I sec a.C., ed era di proprietà dei Venuleii, famiglia pisana di rango senatorio; insieme ad essa sono state edificate delle sontuose terme, le cui rovine sono ancora ben visibili. La cache è posta vicino a tali resti, in punto panoramico da cui è possibile vedere Viareggio, Pisa e, con cielo molto terso, le isole Gorgona, Capraia ed Elba, o addirittura la Corsica. Suggerisco vivamente di visitare anche il porticciolo di Massaciuccoli, dove è presente un piccolo Museo del Lago ed un lungo camminamento sulla palude per gli amanti della natura e, soprattutto, del birdwatching. Museo e camminamento sono mantenuti dalla LIPU, che ha qui istituito l'oasi protetta "Riserva del Chiarone"; entrambi sono fruibili gratuitamente.
La cache è posta nel giardino panoramico della chiesa vicino alle Terme. E' raggiungibile direttamente in auto, ma suggerisco di lasciare l'auto al porticciolo (N43°50.16', E10°21.4') per poi camminare una decina di minuti in mezzo agli olivi.

NOTA: ricoprite bene la cache dopo il ritrovamento: il giardino è tenuto da giardinieri.
