This is the last in my recent series of dedication caches. This
cache is dedicated to Alphatexana, who I've never actually met.
Despite this, he is the first other geocacher that I had any
personal contact with ... through E-Mail. He's a well educated man
with a high-class white-collar job. He uses words like
iconoclast and vilification and he knows a lot about
history, so I thought I'd find a nice high-class historically
related site for this dedication cache. But then I thought, "Hey,
this guy needs to get down and dirty with the rest of us," so I
came up with this one instead. This is especially appropriate,
because I have it on good authority that Alphatexana was once voted
"the least likely to sneak out into the woods and get a tattoo."
And that's what this cache is all about. The swag consists of a
few hundred temporary tattoos in a 50-cal. ammo box. Treat the
larger ones as trade items. Please bring a temporary tattoo to
trade, if you can. You can get them from vending machines at gas
stations and mini-marts. The smaller tattoos are gifts for those
who do not wish to trade. Children 12 and under may have a tattoo
for free with no trade.
There used to be camera in the cache for you to take a picture
of yourself with your new tattoo, but it went missing so, post a
picture of yourself with your new tattoo once you get home. I've
posted a sample picture you can use as an example.
To apply one of these tattoos, peel off the clear covering and
stick it to your skin. Then carefully soak the paper backing off
with water. A wet washcloth works great. Don't apply them if you
have sensitive skin. The tattoos will last several days and
(usually) are shower-safe. They can be removed with baby oil or
rubbing alcohol.
This cache is in Mother Neff state park and you must pay the fee
to enter or you must have a Texas State Parks Pass. (I have one and
I love it. It's saved me mucho $ in entry fees.) The cache is a
short ways off the trail with little or no bushwhacking
required.
