Eucalyptus Grove Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Krypton: As there's been no response to my previous note, I assume that the cache is not going to be repaired or replaced, so I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

Eucalyptus Grove Cache has a beautiful ocean view from a clearing in the lower parts of the Santa Cruz Mountains. 3 Picnic benches make it a great place to stop for a snack. Hitching post for horses. Cache is located ~1.3 miles from parking. This is one of my favorite sunny spots in Santa Cruz.

***please read parking information before driving to this cache***

The cache is located toward the end of the Chinquapin hiking trail (maintained fire-road) and other than a mild grade (my 5-year-old can walk it) it is a relatively easy hike. Follow the signs pointing to the 'Eucalyptus Loop Trail' and they will lead you there. Make sure to bring water as it can be hot on sunny days. Oh, and of coarse, please obey the posted rules. This is a state park and there are no dogs or alcohol allowed.

**** Parking **** Parking is not pleantiful and can be tricky. Parking is ~500 feet down the hill from the trail-head. As you come up Empire Grade you will pass it on the left. Use the twin-gates there to drop off your party and turn the car around to get to the parking spots. This may sound like a hassle, but you will see its worth it once you are there :-)

The Trail-head is located at:
N 37 01.061
W 122 04.772
