Geocache Description:

This, the Orange cache requires you to have found the Red and Yellow caches. The coordinates given are for my chosen parking place, not the actual cache. You need to substitute the values given in the primary colour caches for the equivalent letters to locate the cache –

N55° 58.(Oa)(Ob)(Oc)’ W4° 17.(Od)(Oe)(Of)’

In Red you will find Oa, Oc and Oe
In Yellow you will find Ob, Od and Of

The location is near Strathblane at the foot of the Campsies. The suggested parking place is at the start/end of a path/cycle route which goes to/from Kirkintilloch via Milton of Campsie, the Strathkelvin Railway Path, which, (obviously) follows a dismantled railway line. So you could either walk or cycle along. There are of course closer parking places.

The whole point of coming here is to go to the top of the prominent little hill Dunglass. You will get views along the foothills of the Campsies, the Fintry Hills and you can even see along to the Whangie I’ve passed this spot many times on route to other caches and always wanted to stop, so this time I did! The wildlife is great here. There are sheep, cows, horses and even goats in the field. A couple of large buzzards were hunting all the while I was hunting for a good hiding spot. I tried hard to find a place on the hill but that wasn’t to be.

The cache is just through the wall near some characteristic old oak trees. The ground is very wet as to be expected at the bottom of hill in the Scottish countryside.

There is no colour link here, orange doesn’t occur much in place names etc., oh well. I have attempted to gather things together of the same colour for this cache so please try and colour-match your swaps!

Remember to note the equivalent letters and numbers in this secondary cache to enable you to find the white and black caches.
