JoSar77: Unfortunately, I will have to archive Where Are The Railroads?. My dad (JoSar77) passed away at 1:30pm yesterday from gall bladder cancer. He passed peacefully in his sleep.

I can tell you that my dad loved geocaching ever since I introduced him to it at Thanksgiving 2003. His goal was to find a geocache in all 50 States. He found 28 and that is pretty incredible.

We will miss him dearly.

Geocache Description:

This is a two stage multi-cache. I felt there was a need for a easy multi-cache for slow old people on the east side of Colorado Springs.

The coordinates above are for stage one. There you will need to locate the coordinates that will lead you to the final stage. At the final stage you will find a 50-cal ammo box. This is a cache with a train theme, so please make your trades train related when possible.

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT PARK ON THE SHOULDER OF HWY 24 DUE TO HEAVY TRAFFIC. Suggested parking is located at: N 38 58.316 W 104 33.371. Round trip will be approximately 1.10 miles

This cache is located on a Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. The purpose is to build a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines.

This trail is called the Rock Island Trail and follows the abandoned Chicago and Rock Island Railroad between the towns of Falcon and Peyton, Colorado. This 9-mile, gravel surfaced trail runs parallel to Highway 24 and provides a safe passage way for non-motorized use.
