This cache is just off the path that goes all round the lake making for a nice circular tour, but be warned, it is a long walk all the way round. It is also permissible to cycle round the reservoir and bike hire is available from the visitor centre. There are several car parks all of which charge a nominal fee.
When we left this cache the GPS signal fluctuated quite a bit so you may need to review the clue, but then, may be not as most logs seem to indicate the co-ordinates as spot on. The cache is a medium sized ice-cream container in a black bag
Carrsington Water is a man made reservoir managed by Severn Trent Water. The visitor centre has a nice variety of craft type shops as well as an exhibition by Severn Trent which kids seem to enjoy, especially the large marble “Atlas Stone” ball which floats on a jet of water.. There is also a selection of catering facilities should you feel peckish. There are also some nice nature reserves, bird sanctuaries and picnic spots and an adventure play area. Why no look out for the the Wooden House with Wooden Sculptures, nice spot for a sit down.
