This cache is hidden a short distance from the Lee Valley
Bittern Watchpoint.
The Bittern is one of the heron family and is extremely rare. It
nests in reedbeds and can be found (or more usually heard) during
the summer in East Anglia and Lancashire. During the winter, 5 or 6
Bitterns can be found in the Lee Valley area. We've seen a few from
the watchpoint, but it takes a lot of patience!
The cache is hidden along the Otter Discovery Path in the River
Lee Country Park.
Please be sure to rehide the cache properly - it should not
be left in plain view.
