the cache is a vial containing japanese money.at stage one please note the year the sister-city plaque was placed, and use a japanese word (from the enclosed list) when logging onto the computer. the hint at stage 2 (N 39 07.583 W 121 36.693) is two encrypted japanese words.
after translating the two words into the roman alphabet use a letters-to-numbers code (a=1, b=2...z=26) to translate the word which denotes an article of clothing into a four digit number (clue #1). use a reverse letters to numbers code (a=26, b=25...z=1) to translate the other word into a five digit number (clue #2). multiply clue #1 by the year the tokyo summer olympics were held, quadruple the number and add 125239 to it= W coordinate. multiply the year of the meiji restoration by the year the winter olympics were held in nagano (which is also the year the sister city plaque was erected)= clue #3. finally, multiply clue #2 by 7.85 and add the result to clue #3, subtract 5.9 from it = N coordinate of the cache. don't forget to use a japanese word from the enclosed list in your reply when logging your find on the computer. arigato......
