Geocache Description:

Geocachers of West Tennessee Founders Meeting

Saturday, 29 January 2005 2:30 PM
The above coordinates are to one of Mason, Tennessee’s finest eating establishments. First order of business will be to elect the founding Executive Committee, then while they work, the rest of us can EAT! Door prizes and more fun. Founding memberships will be accepted until the end of the meeting. After that, anyone joining in the first 6 months will “merely” be a Charter member, so be at the meeting if you can! Please post a “plan to attend” note and let us know how many will be there. While we plan to have “family” get-togethers later on, this one will be more business-like, and may not be as much fun for the kids. We told Bozo’s to expect about 50 of us, so I need to get a head count to see if we’re bigger than that!
GOWT Poker Run!
I have established a little poker run to add to our fun. The rules are fairly simple. It is a modified version of Texas Hold'em. You have the advantage of making your own hole cards! The "Flop" can be seen in the photo below. You have the opportunity to add as many as three cards to your hand. The first set of cards is hidden in my Burrow Cemetery cache #GCG09B. Anyone who hasn't already found it will have the double pleasure of getting to log that find, as well as pick up ONE CARD to add to their hand. The second set of cards may be found at N35 27.377 W089 25.406. This is a sign in front of an abandoned store, look in the planter near the parking lot end for a flat container about 4"x6"x1/2". Again, TAKE ONLY ONE CARD! Lastly, you can score one more card in Mason at a nearby cemetery at N35 25.231 W089 32.391 in a stump near the front, same type of container. Be discreet when hunting, and respectful if any mourners are nearby. TAKE ONLY ONE CARD! (got the idea yet?) You do NOT have to hunt all three card stashes, but you MUST hunt at least one of them to play the poker game. Now, after you have built your hand and brought it to the meeting, THE "4TH STREET" and "RIVER" CARDS WILL BE DEALT AT THE MEETING! Best five card hand wins, standard poker hand rankings, decision of the judges will be final. You have almost a full week to hunt the cards, but beware, I WILL KNOW if you try to use more than one card from a single set! If you have any questions about how this works, email me.
