Der Rossgipfel ist trotz seiner geringen Höhe von nur 633m eine Art Kultberg, da er zu den wenigen Wienerwaldbergen mit Gipfelkreuz und Gipfelbuch (das sich mittlerweile wie ein Krimi liest) gehört. Die Wanderung dahin ist nicht schwierig, man sollte sich aber mit der Karte vorbereiten, da die Wege bzw. Schneisen unmarkiert sind. Einige der in der Karte eingezeichneten Schneisen sind mittlerweile zu Forststrassen geworden, einige (wenige) sind zugewachsen, eine andere wurde gar asphaltiert. Bei entsprechender Routenwahl könnte man sogar mit einem Kinderwagen bis auf den Gipfel kommen.
Der Cache (eine kleine lock-lock-Box) befindet sich etwa 10 m südlich des Gipfelkreuzes.
Ein möglicher Ausgangspunkt ist bei N 48° 5.885 ', E 16 ° 5.835 '. Dort ist auch eine Bushaltestelle. Von dort bietet sich an, den Münichbach entlang (am Gehöft Gföhler vorbei) zu gehen und in weitere Folge von Norden her auf den Gipfel zu gehen. Der Vorgipfel nordöstlich des Rossgipfels bietet ein wenig Aussicht. Für die ganze Wanderung sollte man rund 4 Stunden (ohne Gipfelrast) einkalkulieren.
Eine andere Möglichkeit ist die Runde von Alland her zu gehen (bei Ausdehnung zur Runde ca 16 km).
Besonderheiten: Es gibt keine Einkehrmöglichkeit während der Tour. Proviant mitnehmen!
Zur richtigen Jahreszeit ist mit dem erhöhten Aufkommen von Brombeeren entlang der Zustiegsschneisen zu rechnen.
Im Bereich von „Gföhler“ ist es unter Umständen möglich, vom rechten Weg abzukommen, da die Gegend dort flächendeckend mit mehr oder minder fahrtauglichem Gerümpel zugestellt ist. Wir mussten deshalb eine etwas fragwürdige Brücke (siehe Bild) hinter dem Haus benutzen, was nicht unbedingt ratsam erscheint.
Wenn viel Schnee liegt, wird das Cacheversteck vermutlich nicht zugänglich sein. Bis zu 20cm stellen wahrscheinlich kein Problem dar.
Bitte den Cache wieder gut verstecken und den Stein möglichst wieder so anordnen, damit der Cache vor tierischem Zugriff geschützt ist. Stift und Logbuch bitte dort lassen.

Rossgipfel is only 633m high, but still it is almost a „must“ for hikers, as it is one of the few Wienerwald-Mountains with a cross and a book at the summit. The hike is not difficult and suitable for children, but the paths are not marked. So please prepare well for the tour. Some of the aisles that are displayed in the map have become forest roads in the meantime, a few have disappeared.
The cache (a small lock-lock-Box) lies approximately 10 m south of the cross.
A possible starting point would be at N 48° 5.885 ', E 16 ° 5.835 '. There is a bus stop and a very small parking facility around the busstop. From there you could walk via Gföhler and then approach the summit from the northern side. The smaller summit to the northeast of the Rossgipfel offers a little bit of a view. The whole trip takes about 4 hours without considering rests on the summit or elsewhere. Another possible starting point is Alland (parking available near the church).
To be concerned: Bring your own supplies to eat and drink, as there is nothing available during the hike.
During the right season there will be a lot of blackberries along the way (especially on the aisles).
In the area colled „Gföhler“ (northwest of the recommended starting point) there is a chance of missing the correct path due to an enormous amount of junk „parked“ all over the place. Look out for a solid bridge, not for the shaky thing behind the house (see pic.) as we did.
The cache will not be accessible when there is a lot of snow. Snowcover up to 20cm should be ok, I suppose.
Please hide the cache well again and put the stone in front of it as they were, in order to protect it against animals.
