* A brief history:

This site used to be the gift shop and restaurant of the old Mahogany Rock Cable Car owned and operated by Worth Folger. I remember it as a child growing up in the area. The cable car actually left from Mahogony Rock which is the peak to the Northeast. The cable car then landed at the top of Scott Ridge, on this concrete pad. At the time of its operation, it was one of the longest cable cars in the US. There used to be many homes along the acess road leading in . The cable car eventually closed business and the National Park Service ended up with the property. The old cable car was dismantled and sold and all of the homes were either moved out or demolished.

This information was left by a fellow cacher when recording their find. Many thanks to "CapnBob" for sharing with us all.
