Geocache Description:

Another in our Dorset Urban Series.

We've been whiting to set this for a whale!
Crab a pen , get your skates on and see whether you can net it!

The cache is in Poole Park but you will need to visit all the points along the quay and in Poole town to work out the coordinates. You could walk from Poole to the Park, but there is parking nearby.

Tree cover may affect the gps at the final location but use the clue if you need to!

The co-ords given are for the start of the trail, the Lifeboat Museum.

The route will take you past many interesting locations in Poole's history. For more information about these, a leaflet (Poole Cockle Trail) is available from the Tourist Office for 30 pence.

Outside the Lifeboat Museum there is a commemorative plaque laid in June 1994. On the fourth line there is a number, abcd.

Now walk from the plaque along the quayside. Turn right into Castle Street.

Just on the righthand side there is a warehouse with the date tuvw.

Continue along Castle Street, then cross the High Street and go down New Street. Turn right into Market Street and find the small plaque on the Guildhall.

The Beating of the Bounds took place here at the Guildhall for the 11th time on the ef April ghhi.

Turn back and go staight down Church Street. The Almshouses are on the lefthand side.

These were passed to the Crown in jklm.

Continue along Church Street. Turn left into Thames Street. This will take you back onto the quayside. Turn right and go to the lifting bridge.

There is a plaque showing the Poole coat of arms. The date in the bottom right hand corner is nopq.

Go back along the quay to the large metal sculpture 'Sea Music'

How many metal steps, not including the landings in the middle and at the top, are there all together (ie actual steps in the flights of stairs on the metal sculpture)? Answer = rs.

The final co-ords are

N k0° bc.akp
W 00g° km.uus
