The first cache is located around the original site of All Saints Episcopal Church, with the other two stages elsewhere on the church grounds. Not a sensitive area- the grass on the original site is mowed by the State of Maryland, and the small woodsy area is overgrown with vines
The caches are traditional, rubbermaid-type containers, covered with leaves and sticks. It's very close to MD Route 2, but there is convenient off-road parking near a historical marker. The cache was initally stocked with a small bag of fossil shells, a small bag of fossil shark's teeth, seed packets, olive-wood crosses, electrical tape, a binder clip, toy dinosaur, plastic leis, baby toy, mini picture frames, several lapel pins, matchbox car, rubber ducky keychain, smile face ring game, small lock & key, "pearl" necklace, lion king figure, crayons, 3 pens, 2 pencils and two AA batteries. The other two caches can be visited without moving your car and without crossing roads. Cache two is similar in contents to cache one, and cache three has inexpensive toys from Walmart targeted for 4-5 year olds
In 2006 we constructed a 55-foot Chartres-type labyrinth on the church grounds. You will probably pass close by it on your caching journey! Feel free to walk the labyrinth as well- it is also lit at night. If you catch it on the right date, you can also watch the sun rise and set behind the solstice stones on the perimeter of the gardens. Enjoy!
