Park on the NORTH side of the building, enter and climb to the
lookout area at the highest point. (Hint: it is round)
NOTE: Use the force! Avoid Muggles, they are often all over this
place! Also, if the little people are present wait until they
disperse before you continue or they just may gang up on you, gnaw
at your knee caps and try to steal your Katra( I was chased by
several who were jabbing short spears at me as I tried to set up
this cache!) PS: If you have or can borrow a little person of your
own, his/her presence will allow you easy passage through this area
with little or no opposition from the other little people or the
muggles...the force is strong with the little people.
Once you reach the highest point, stand beside the metal pole
(watch out for the static discharged by the reactor or it'll get
ya!)
Face Due South (180 degrees)
What 7 digit number do you see in the distance?
______________
Divide the first digit by two (2) and input that number into the
first and second blanks of the Longitude West.
Input the second digit into the remaining blank of the Longitude
West.
Now make your way to the red junction room and put yourself in
the exact center of the room.
Look out the window that faces 72 degrees.
Locate the NEAREST wooden telephone pole. There is an electronic
device on the pole...go to it.
There are several numbers on the object. Write the largest 8
digit number in the below blank: _______________
Input the last three digits of the above number into the three
blank spaces of the latitude North below, but enter them IN REVERSE
order.
Once you have the below coords proceede to your next
location.
NOTE: It is accessed from a GAP IN THE BARBED WIRE FENCE that
leads to a trail. This gap in the fence is located along the side
of a 2-lane secondary road...not the nearby interstate! So...DO NOT
attempt to locate it from the interstate!
Be careful of the thorns!
N 35 21. __ __ __
W082 27. __ __ __
Once you are at the next location use the force and all your
past geocaching experiences to solve the puzzle to complete the
final set of coordinates that will lead you to the treasure. NOTE:
As above, it is accessed from a secondary 2-lane road...not the
nearby interstate so DO NOT hunt from the interstate. You will need
to access it from the SAME 2-lane road as in the last stage. (ps:
don't try to walk...DRIVE!)
N 35 2__.__ __ __
W082 27.__ __ __
HINT: For the access to the next stage: Locate and park near the
steel gate on the SOUTH side of the creek, follow your GPS and find
the small old picnic table(it's hard to find in the summer).
While hiking along the SOUTH bank of the creek keep your eyes
open for Great blue herons, Northern watersnakes and the occasional
Racoon and Beaver as they frequent this lowland area. NOTE: There
are not Cottonmouths here(despite what you have been told)...but
you may be lucky to occasionally see a Northern Copperhead--just
keep your distance and take a photo(they are very rare here...I've
been coming here all my life and have never seen one!)!
The DANGER LIST
NOTE: If you are allergic to bees, wasps and so on...they may be
here as this is a WILD area with all of its components i.e: live
wild creatures(that may hurt you--oh my!), mud, dirt, scat(fresh
and sunbleached...the fresh will be accompanied by a rather
unpleasent odor so WATCH OUT! Often, if you poke a stick at scat
just the right way you will be able to determine what type of
creature left it there and just what that creature had eaten for
its last meal!! WOW-ain't nature grand!), uneven ground, rough
surfaces(that may abrade your skin), heat, cold, wet water(that
becomes hard and cold in the colder times and OH MY--this often
will fall unpredictably from the sky and if you are not prepared it
will make you and your coverings WET!! See: Weather below), dirt
(which when accompanied by wet water often becomes mud--watch out
for this as it is very clingy and can soil you and your
coverings!), dryness(may also chap exposed skin), rocks(watch out
for these things--you may trip on them and fall down!), plants
(some you can eat and some will make you itch and bleed...and even
die), sand (that makes you itch if you get it in your
nether-regions), pollen(a by-product of the above plants that may
make some of you sneeze, itch and cough), wind(that may chap
exposed skin and disturb carefully placed hair), air(this could be
anywhere from hot to warm or cool to cold), weather(a combination
of many of the factors present here. This is entirely unpredictable
unless you believe what the NWS tells you), light and dark (and all
the shades in between), unpredictable sounds created from unknown
sources (some of these may be pleasent...but sometimes not...and
they may hurt your ears!), sometimes you will see a very bright
disk overhead (but don't look directly at it as it will damage your
eyes. It may also cause red burns on your exposed skin so bring
your protective devices and chemicals), often there is a lack of
light accompanied by a glowing disk in the sky that is pleasent to
look at...and much more! Just remember: there will be plenty of
random unplanned events that you will encounter on this hunt and on
any venture you take into the natural world--so be ready for them
as they are the things that make life worth living!
If you encounter anything hazardous or unusual that I haven't
covered here...please let me know and I will update this page.
Now I have covered ALL the bases so:
NO WHINING TO ME ABOUT WHAT YOU WEREN'T READY FOR PLEASE!
On with the hunt!
From the picnic table make your way UPHILL...yes, you will have
to cross the fence...be careful of the briers and overgrowth in the
summer months(see above danger list)...and be sure to bring the bug
repellent.
NOTE: DO NOT hunt for the final from the interstate road...it is
NOT accessible from there.
Your final objective is in a HIGH, DRY and SAFE place and can
only be accessed on foot. And noone lives here anymore(you will
understand when you get there.)
NOTE: When you find the final target coordinates duck low and
watch your footing and please place the cache back in its exact
position as found.
There is no need to remove the container from its niche...only
the lid. Please replace it back on the cache tightly and exactly as
you found it.
STEP FOUR: GOOD LUCK and have a great hunt.
